Lions Sands River Lodge

Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is located in the finest territory of the world famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, South Africa. The friendly staff strives to give you the warmest of welcomes, to make you feel like you are at home with the wild bush around you. The peaceful Sabie River flows through the setting, and guests can enjoy the wildlife that is attracted the the myriad creatures that come to drink from it. 

The public areas at River Lodge offers guests the following: a private lounge and bar with fireplace, an outdoor safari lounge, two swimming pools (heated in winter), wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, a magnificent River Island Deck built on the river, Lalamuka Health Spa and gymnasium, curio shop and both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. There are 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor and indoor shower, and wooden viewing deck. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways.

Activities include twice daily game drives, guided bush walks, bush breakfasts and dinner, even astronomy outings. Optional activities include ballooning, skeet shooting, spa treatments, cultural visits and even golf. There is a wide array of diverse wildlife that guests can spot while on game drives, including elephants, rhinos, cheetah and lions.
