This is a beautiful old world hotel full of Edwardian style. We always request the stable wing rooms as these are the loveliest rooms at the hotel. Victoria Falls Hotel exudes history and is one of our favorite hotels in the area. It is like walking back in time to stroll the grounds. Even if you do not stay there, it is worth having lunch on the terrace.
Victoria Falls is a site that no visitor to Southern Africa should miss. Victoria Falls Hotel was built in 1904 when the Cape to Cairo railway reached the falls. Ever since, guests have been charmed by the old world atmosphere of one of the few remaining hotels of its kind in the world.
The Victoria Falls Hotel has 143 rooms, 17 suites and the Royal Suite. All the hotels bedrooms have been refurbished to provide a perfect balance of modern amenities without losing the grand Edwardian architecture.
Set in acres of lush lawns and exotic flora, the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the center of Victoria Falls Town and a ten minute walk along the hotels private path from the actual falls. Dining venues include the Livingstone Room, Jungle Junction Summerhouse and Stanley's Terrace. Traditional high tea is served every afternoon on the Terrace, and is a highlight for those wanting to be taken back it time to another era.
Victoria Falls boasts many optional activities including micro-lite flights, white water rafting, or golfing. You can choose to take a sunset cruise before dinner one night on the upper Zambezi River or visit markets for curios in Victoria Falls town.
