Harare is the capitol city of Zimbabwe and sits in the central plateau region of the country. It is a beautiful city with wide tree-lined streets, evidence of its British colonial roots. Purple flowering Jacaranda trees, although non-endemic, decorate the city center along with numerous parks and open spaces. The National Gallery has an incredible display of Shona stone carvings and the park surrounding is full of local artists selling their crafts.
Harare International Airport connects daily to Johannesburg and onwards by light air transfer to many of the national parks and safari hot spots in the country.
