Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
Singita Kataza House strives to embody the gentle, regenerative spirit of Rwanda, and provides a contemplative, nurturing space in which to appreciate the transformative, often spiritual, experience of coming face to face with the forest’s gentle giants. The work of local stone masons, weavers and ceramicists are central in its décor and design, and elements like woven ceilings and hand-fired terracotta brickwork add to the contemporary African appeal.
Kataza House is located on a breathtaking, isolated but contained 178-acre piece of land right on the edge of Volcanoes National Park. From this exclusive use house you will have magnificent views of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes. Comprising two spacious suites, a junior master suite and a lavish master suite, the villa also includes a two-bedroom staff residence, wine cellar, fitness center, cinema, massage treatment room, interactive kitchen and fire pit. Kataza House offers a full staff complement and a farm-to-table food journey that celebrates Rwandese cuisine and fresh produce from the on-site garden.
The main attraction of Kataza is its proximity to the Virungas and the Parc National des Volcans where clients trek on foot to see the magnificent Mountain Gorilla - perhaps one of the most dramatic, thrilling and poignant wildlife experiences possible. There are, however, a myriad of other excursions on offer.
