Mango Opinion
One of our favorite beach destinations in Madagascar. Combines the gorgeous blue waters with white sands alongside a forest rich with biodiversity. So much to do or just relax!
Anjajavy Hotel stands beside the beach at the end of a peninsula that extends into the Mozambique Channel. It is a remote, exceptionally beautiful coast, with sandy coves and turquoise waters and bordering a superb dry forest reserve protecting a plethora of unique wildlife. The 24 air-conditioned, two-storey villas are built of local rosewood and roofed with satrana leaves. Each is equipped with several beds, a sitting area, breakfast corner, bathroom with a soaking tub. French windows open onto a large sea-facing verandah, furnished with armchairs and a hammock from which you can watch the lemurs in the trees or the fishing pirogues on the ocean.
The main lodge houses a comfortable lounge, the bar with billiards and the main restaurant. Many meals are al fresco on the deck, overlooking the parakeet dotted lawn, swimming pool and Indan Ocean. The long, sandy beach in front of the villas is ideal for swimming and relaxation; deck-chairs and shades are provided.
There are so many things to do at Anjajavy. Enjoy seeing the lemurs in the reserve. The beautiful Coquerel's Sifakas are often found bouncing on their hind legs around the grounds of the lodge. The staff offers fabulous walking tours and several village visits. The marina is a short walk from the lodge and offers numerous watersports, including catamarans, kayaking, snorkelling and water-skiing. Land-based sports include: volleyball, table tennis, badminton, billiards and boules.
