The camp while in the busy Seronera area is situated just enough outside that it feels quieter. This camp is a little bigger than we normally like for a tented camp option. While the staff is lovely with sixteen tents it is hard to have a hosted experience.
Ronjo Camp is located in the heart of the Serengeti National Park, near the beautiful banks of the Seronera River. It's a great place to get back to nature and enjoy all the wild beauty of the Serengeti. Watch the wildlife graze across the plains as the sun sets in a burst of brilliant oranges and pinks.
The 16 tents have an intimate feel, reminiscent of Out of Africa. They have double or twin beds and en suite bathrooms with a flush toilet, small basin and hot bucket shower. Local furniture is featured, including on the terrace and safari chairs. The camp is proud to be an eco-friendly camp for energy efficiency, water use and waste recycling. The excellent cooks and charming wait staff make each meal and wonderful experience. Enjoy the sounds of the bush while you dine. Masai guards protect the camp from wildlife, but guests will still see the occasional creature wander slowly through camp.
Here the focus is on game drives and having up close encounters with wildlife. Rise with the sun and spot herds of wildlife roaming the plains, then enjoy the sunset and great chat around the evening campfire. The Serengeti supports the iconic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra. Hungry predators stalk these masses of prey, and visitors can also see giraffes, elephants and rhinos to name a few.
