Maun

Maun is the main safari gateway in northern Botswana. Almost all of our clients will travel through Maun at one point as they visit the safari destinations like the Okavango Delta, Linyanti Wetland, and Moremi Game Reserve, to name a few.

The town is very much a bustling hub of activity. Many safari companies have offices or headquarters there so they can service their camps in the more remote areas. Most of the pilots that operate the transfer flights for tourists call Maun home as well.

Since almost all safari locations in the region are accessed by air, a vast majority of people just pass through the Main Airport as the meet onward flights to their safari destinations. Because of this there are very few good spots to spend the night should you wish to explore a bit.
