Family run with care, Chiawa camp is an easy and relaxing place to pass a few days. Lower Zambezi National Park has something for everyone; adrenalin-filled canoe rides on the Zambezi River among the hippos being a highlight. While the North bank of the Zambezi does not stand up to Mana Pools NP on the South side in terms of game viewing, it is an interesting and fun stop on a diverse safari. Tiger fishing draws adventurous fishermen from around the world.
Resting peacefully on the banks of the Zambezi River, under a grove of evergreen mahogany trees, Chiawa Camp holds a prime position in the heart of Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park.
There are six luxury safari tents, one honeymoon tent and two superior tents at Chiawa Camp. The luxury tents are set on elevated timber decks overlooking the Zambezi River, these have 220v and 12v electricity, brass electric table fans and feature en-suite shower, flush toilet and washbasin, with hot and cold running water.
Constructed mainly of natural materials, Chiawa Camp blends in effortlessly with its idyllic surroundings and it is here where guests receive the very best Africa has to offer. A stunning thatched lounge/bar area with upstairs viewing deck provides one of the best views of the Zambezi. Enjoy Chiawas renowned cuisine on our al fresco dining veranda.
In a hidden corner of camp, there is a viewing hide up in a mahogany tree from where you can watch life and the Zambezi go by or you could opt to take a dip in Chiawas refreshing plunge pool. Activities include guided bush walks, both morning and afternoon sundowner game drives, river cruises, fishing, and canoeing.
