We like Villa Mandarine a lot for travelers arriving late. This is not super luxury hotel, but a well-run, family operated hotel. A comfy spot to spend a night on arrival before you start to explore in earnest.
Nestled in the heart of a vast orange grove, the Villa Mandarine combines hospitality and comfort. This outstanding location offers quiet spaces that have preserved the charm of an old family home. Immersed in greenery and close to the prestigious Dar Es Salaam golf course, the Villa Mandarine is a grandiose house that has been renovated into a stylish boutique hotel. The 31 rooms and 5 suites are all individually designed with thoughtful details. A large window and a door allow light into the room's interior, and offer a panoramic view of the surrounding gardens. They are organized around a central courtyard that features a fountain and beautifully cultivated rose garden. Lush vegetation provides each room with a sense of privacy and seclusion.
The Villa's garden is 3 hectares with 700 orange trees and hundreds of varieties of delightfully scented floral varieties. The house and garden blend effortlessly together to create an oasis of relaxation. The pool and sunbeds encourage restfulness, and tables shaded by old trees provide lovely lunch spots. The premises consist of a large lounge with a fireplace, a billiards room, a bar, and small terraces shaded by flowers.
The dining room at Villa Mandarine offers a varied and inventive menu, which changes according to the market and the seasons. You will savor its gourmet cuisine on the terrace overgrown with the flowers and smells of fruit trees, or in the rooms in shimmering colors, whose bay windows seem to want to let the garden enter the premises.
