Mango Opinion
One of the newer luxury hotels in Nairobi, Hemingways offers guests a great place to relax and recharge from the long journey to East Africa. While there are several good options in the city this is definitively near the top of the list.
The city of Nairobi offers an enthralling setting for Hemingways Nairobi. Despite being in the capital, guests enjoy views of the iconic Ngong Hills from private balconies. Lush trees and manicured green lawns surround the plantation-style property to create an airy and spacious setting flooded with natural light. Lush gardens dotted with colorful blooms surround the property, among these are lovely fountains that give the hotel grounds a sophisticated feel.
Lofty, expansive rooms with vast, bright en-suite bathrooms and large private terraces are characteristic of the hotel’s wonderful sense of space and use of natural light. There are 45 high-ceilinged suites, two of which are penthouse style Presidential Suites. Muted colors and textured fabrics in ecru and taupe create an ambiance of contemporary-chic while subtle touches of brass, mahogany and leather bear reference to the classic elegance of vintage East African safaris. Beyond the balustrade of your private balcony is a view of the green hills of Africa, as described in Hemingway’s novel.
The service is personal and sincere, offering a luxury experience from the moment you touch down in Kenya. Your dedicated butler will know that you prefer Earl Grey to Assam with your scones, and will remember which trousers you like pressed flat and which ones need a central crease.
