This is a stylish little camp set among the boulders which provides guests a special atmosphere. The location is ideal for visiting the petroglyphs (prehistoric rock art) at Twyfelfontein as well as exploring the unique wildlife like desert adapted elephant that make their home here. Situated on the northern face of the Huab River Valley and looking south toward the imposing Brandberg Mountains, Mowani Mountain Camp offers its guests endless vistas. Early morning mists generated by the clash between the icy Atlantic Ocean and the warm desert air of the Skeleton Coast, drift inland along the canyon, accentuating the dramatic landscape.
Mowani Mountain Camp consists of 15 rooms, all with en-suite facilities, decorated beautifully in East African style. Comfortably hidden in your own private oasis, you will be pampered by a small lounge and a wooden deck offering a stunning view of the wonderful Damara landscape. Whether relaxing in the folds of your crisp white linens or enjoying a romantic dinner under the magical Namibian stars, you will be delighted by this unique bush experience. Adventures and activities available at Mowani include guided nature drives in search of the elusive desert elephant, hiking through magnificent scenery or a trip to the historical site of Twyfelfontein, which is a rare example of Bushmen engravings and paintings. This wonderful archeological site offers more than 2,500 engravings as well as various paintings, and is probably the finest example of rock engravings in Southern Africa.
