Gheralta Mountains

This stunning mountainous region in northern Ethiopia is home to a series of fascinating churches carved directly into the rock faces of the mountains. Hiking up to the various sites may be challenging, but it well worth it to see these ancient sites and take in the views of the breathtaking scenery.
