Mango Opinion

This tiny 4-roomed camp is set in the fabulous Busanga Plains area in Kafue National Park. The camp is quite luxurious while also being in a prime birding and wildlife viewing area. Best time of year to visit is July - September.

Kapinga Camp is situated in the north-west corner of the vast Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park, one of the largest national parks in Africa, while the Busanga Plains is one of Zambias most significant wetland resources, and one of the few areas in the world that remain unspoiled by human development.

Kapinga Camp is designed to be in harmony with the environment; natural products have been used as much as possible in its construction. Interiors are spacious and have all the modern conveniences that one would wish for. With only four luxury en-suite safari tents with both indoor and outdoor showers accommodating a maximum of eight guests, one can be assured of exceptional personal attention.

Tents and the main area are all shaded by a canopy of majestic trees and on raised wooden platforms to enhance the panoramic view across the plains. Lively colors and stripes characterize the main area, comprising a lounge, dining area, camp fire and small pool under a shady tree.

Guests can take part in game drives and walking safaris in and around the Plains, while night drives offer the added excitement of observing the nocturnal wonders of the area.

This camp is perfectly situated to see the antelope that make the Plains their home: lechwe, the ubiquitous puku, stately roan antelope as well as the diminutive oribi. Herds of wildebeest, zebra and buffalo are all commonly seen as well as smaller groups of Lichtensteins hartebeest. This wealth of game is also a big attraction for predators, including wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion. A birders special, the Bohms Bee-eater, can be seen in the parking area of the camp!
